WEBVTT

00:00.000 --> 00:04.000
Hi there makers and welcome back to the channel

00:04.000 --> 00:10.000
Today we'll be making this V neck off the
shoulder sweater which I have been dying to

00:10.000 --> 00:15.000
share with you. As usual, if you think this
video is a big thumbs up, be sure to subscribe

00:15.000 --> 00:20.000
And we also have a free wooden pattern which
is available in 9 different sizes so be sure

00:20.000 --> 00:26.000
to check that out. You'll also find a link
to the paid pattern if you wish to purchase

00:26.000 --> 00:30.000
The materials are also found in the
description box below so let's get into it

00:30.000 --> 00:38.000
So, this sweater will be working using two
crochet hooks, a 5, a 5 and a 4 mm hook

00:38.000 --> 00:45.000
Before, we'll be using her to our band, for
the neck collar, the bottom and the fleece

00:45.000 --> 00:52.000
So, begin by making your flat
nose and make a chain of 6

00:52.000 --> 01:02.000
That's how big I want my collar to
be. It's just quite not perfect

01:02.000 --> 01:07.000
But if you want your collar to be quite thicker,
you need to fold slightly more than I did

01:07.000 --> 01:15.000
to make the collar even thickness. So, into the second
chain from the hook, we'll go in with our single crochet

01:15.000 --> 01:32.000
And we'll do single crochets going all the way
down. So, as you get in, you do a chain of 11 chains

01:32.000 --> 01:57.000
I'll go in with a chain of single
crochets. And now, I'll turn

01:57.000 --> 02:08.000
During the process, I'll place in
our single crochets. That's okay

02:08.000 --> 02:15.000
So, if you do it like I am, you'll
do this for a total of 100 rows

02:15.000 --> 02:25.000
Yes, you'll make 100 rows of single crochets. If you're not
a professional, you want to be working with a ribbon pattern

02:25.000 --> 02:32.000
which you should find the link in the description box
below. And see how many rows you need to make for you

02:32.000 --> 02:41.000
So, I'm not going to do 100 rows here on camera, obviously. So, I'm going to post the
videos into a camera, and then I'll come and show you how we can connect the collar

02:41.000 --> 02:48.000
to start working on our wetter. Alright,
so now that we're done with our 100 rows

02:48.000 --> 02:56.000
we want to do a chain of 11, and
repeat this, and cut off the yarn

03:02.000 --> 03:11.000
There we go. So, I've got my stitch marker,
and I placed it into the fifth stitch

03:11.000 --> 03:20.000
which I'm about to explain why. And then I have two stitch
markers, so if you have a stitch marker, you can just count 5 rows

03:20.000 --> 03:25.000
It goes 1, 2, 3, 4, and
5. So, that's in total

03:25.000 --> 03:32.000
So, it's up in the 3-and-a-half-size table. If you did a
10-and-a-half-plus-10, you're going to count 10 stitches, or 10 pieces

03:32.000 --> 03:37.000
10 rows, and take a stitch marker into the
tenth. But if you did 5, open up the same for 12

03:37.000 --> 03:42.000
Why we did that? Because we're about
to connect them like this together

03:42.000 --> 03:47.000
So, if you say 5 stitches on this side, you're
going to need to connect equivalent to 5 rows

03:47.000 --> 03:56.000
because it also kind of includes 100 around. And if it's 5
on this side, say 5 as well, 5 rows, same thing on that side

03:56.000 --> 04:04.000
So, to do that, we cannot start from here, because if we start
from this side, we will be ending on this side of the row

04:04.000 --> 04:15.000
so we want to make sure that we start from the outside of the row. So, you
can start using connecting yarns anywhere around your yarns and your collar

04:16.000 --> 04:21.000
So, right here, I'm going to use it to
increase the tension. This is your collar

04:22.000 --> 04:27.000
So, as I said earlier, we're going to
connect it like this, at the bottom

04:29.000 --> 04:35.000
Alright, so, you're just going to have to
crease your stitch marker from this side

04:38.000 --> 04:43.000
So, we're going to do 1,
2, 3, 4, 5. And that's it

04:44.000 --> 04:51.000
Okay? So, I'm going to connect my yarns
on the bottom side of the bottom part

04:51.000 --> 04:56.000
We're going to start on the right, but for
this case, I'm going to start at the center

04:56.000 --> 05:01.000
So, it's a pretty checker box, so whatever way you
start is not going to be the same, it's kind of optional

05:02.000 --> 05:07.000
So, we're going to make our work pretty neat.
So, I'm just going to take a stitch marker

05:15.000 --> 05:22.000
There it is. And, for that first main
feature, so that it doesn't have a loose end

05:22.000 --> 05:26.000
I'm just going to grab another stitch marker and
connect it at the corner over here. There it is

05:30.000 --> 05:38.000
Just to keep your work straight and then
free. So, so far, this is what we're wearing

05:38.000 --> 05:44.000
So, remember, like I said, on the bottom part of
our rib, not the top, but the bottom part of our rib

05:44.000 --> 05:48.000
because now we're going to be working through
the crochet, or the rib, so the bottom part

05:48.000 --> 05:52.000
And we're going to continue to
connect here, and work our way upwards

05:52.000 --> 05:56.000
so on the bottom, I don't really get to worry
about the top, so I can just turn the top off

05:57.000 --> 06:02.000
Great. Alright, I'm going to start
from the end of two knots here

06:05.000 --> 06:18.000
Let's just continue on. Chain one. Right into the first
stitch, but, if you're going in here first, single crochet

06:19.000 --> 06:24.000
This is where you will now have another stitch
marker, because it will require a stitch marker

06:24.000 --> 06:29.000
so that you can connect, but I'll do
this as a very first stitch marker

06:36.000 --> 06:43.000
Just like that. And I'll be working over this tail, because,
as myself, you will be sure that you can do it as is

06:43.000 --> 06:49.000
My next one will be on the rib
part. And then another here

06:53.000 --> 07:01.000
And then, on the rib part.
And we go on just like that

07:01.000 --> 07:06.000
So, I'm going to go on, taking my
single crochet, as I've been saying

07:06.000 --> 07:11.000
in between the ribbing, and then the ribbing,
and between the ribbing, and on the ribbing

07:11.000 --> 07:15.000
until I reach my stitch marker,
which is this thing right here

07:15.000 --> 07:21.000
And I'll show you how to connect this little corner part.
So, you go on doing that, and I'll meet you just like that

07:21.000 --> 07:28.000
So, I've just moved everything around to that stitch
marker. So, I would be now using that stitch marker

07:32.000 --> 07:36.000
Now, we'll be working, because right
now, I don't need to do anything

07:36.000 --> 07:41.000
I just want to connect this part, the back
part, so we'll do those two pieces together

07:41.000 --> 07:47.000
This is our first stitch right here,
so we will do a single hook into there

07:49.000 --> 07:56.000
and into the back part, which is right there.
That's where our first stitch is going to be

07:56.000 --> 08:05.000
And we'll be creating a single crochet. That's the first
one. And then we'll do a single hook into the second one

08:05.000 --> 08:09.000
And then, the stitches on the other
side as well, which is the ribbing

08:09.000 --> 08:17.000
and we'll be creating a single crochet.
Just like that. This is our third

08:23.000 --> 08:33.000
Fourth. We've got one more to work.
I'm going to be using a stitch marker

08:35.000 --> 08:39.000
A little bit off-cam, and then
to the left, so at the back

08:42.000 --> 08:48.000
We'll be working, oops, just going to move
this a little bit, and left for the crochet

08:48.000 --> 08:56.000
And this is what it should look like, just about now. We
won't do anything fancy on this side, we're just going to turn

08:56.000 --> 09:00.000
to work now the opposite side,
which is the other side of this head

09:00.000 --> 09:08.000
So, we're going to turn, we'll go with this tail. So, this is
the first alteration, so I'm just going to go straight in there

09:11.000 --> 09:16.000
turn the work over this tail. If it's going to be
a little hard for you, you can just stick to me

09:16.000 --> 09:22.000
So, you should also go into the back
row, and create a single crochet

09:23.000 --> 09:31.000
Now the next one is the wrist, the second.
Turn over everything, single crochet

09:32.000 --> 09:42.000
Now in between, third. Single crochet

09:46.000 --> 10:03.000
And the fourth, double crochet. Double crochet. Single
crochet in all of these, top of that stitch marker

10:03.000 --> 10:11.000
Another single crochet. And into
that very next spot on the back

10:15.000 --> 10:21.000
Five single crochet, and now we have
just connected that area to create our V

10:22.000 --> 10:26.000
Just like that, and now we're
just going to continue this side

10:26.000 --> 10:31.000
placing our single crochets into each of
the rows, and through the stitch markers

10:31.000 --> 10:35.000
And after you're done, you want to make sure
you count that you actually have a hundred

10:35.000 --> 10:40.000
and then you're going to connect,
put your single crochet on and cut

10:40.000 --> 10:46.000
And then we'll do the whole routine of our body. So, I'm going
to do the rest of the cramming, and I'll meet you when I'm done

10:47.000 --> 10:53.000
So, I just finished, into that last corner right there,
and I'm just going to put a good chain off of here

10:55.000 --> 11:03.000
And cut. And I'll take the stitch marker, and start
casting our single crochet into place, just like that

11:03.000 --> 11:11.000
And a bit more, I mean, stress less than you ever need. But, you
should have a stitch marker, my stitch marker is quite far away

11:11.000 --> 11:17.000
and if I had a bigger stitch marker I would have it closer. But,
so remember that we had a total of, I did a total of hundred

11:17.000 --> 11:24.000
for the inner section between the top panel and the back panel.
So, I have done fifty for the back, and fifty for the front

11:24.000 --> 11:29.000
to make a whole total of hundred. So,
differentiate that, what you're going to do

11:29.000 --> 11:34.000
under there, under the repeat, repeat section,
remember we've got the number one, that's the center

11:34.000 --> 11:39.000
you can do different, it doesn't have to be the same. The one
that looks a bit exact, I'm just going to start from there

11:39.000 --> 11:43.000
So, this is fifty by fifty here,
we're going to count from there

11:43.000 --> 11:47.000
to the side, this way, this side,
and make a second stitch back there

11:47.000 --> 11:52.000
so that's equal to fifty, and do the same to
the other side, so this stitch marker is there

11:52.000 --> 11:56.000
which has now moved the inner area
of fifty, and the back area of fifty

11:56.000 --> 12:02.000
giving you back panel, front panel, fifty rows,
and fifty stitches. I hope that makes sense

12:02.000 --> 12:06.000
Just a little more care, we're going
to look at the center of the repeat

12:06.000 --> 12:10.000
which is right here, and then from
there, we're going to start counting one

12:10.000 --> 12:15.000
up to two rows, that's where you're
going to put your stitch marker

12:15.000 --> 12:19.000
and then from there, you're going to start, look
at the thing you counted, the second one now

12:19.000 --> 12:26.000
up to two rows on the other side, and put your stitch marker, and
that's going to give you a total of fifty stitches on this side

12:26.000 --> 12:31.000
and you're going to need another system
for the back, and that's the front panel

12:31.000 --> 12:36.000
and that's the back panel. So now, from here
on, we're going to draw our crescent row

12:36.000 --> 12:40.000
and then we're going to start working
on the body. So for my first cardigan

12:40.000 --> 12:46.000
I'll be doing three rows of crescent
rows, I'll begin by making my first ten

12:52.000 --> 12:56.000
and there we go. I'm going to
take my double stitch marker

12:56.000 --> 13:01.000
and crease it into the ten, because
this is going to be the bottom part

13:02.000 --> 13:09.000
of the single crescent. And now that means
I've got sixty left to make my second

13:09.000 --> 13:13.000
I'm going to turn this off, say nine
sixty, and I'll turn it off camera

13:13.000 --> 13:17.000
and I'll meet you back in
a bit. So I've got my sixty

13:17.000 --> 13:21.000
now, I'm going to block off
that left two, and turn it off

13:21.000 --> 13:26.000
and begin to add the bottom two. Into
the second, same thing goes here

13:26.000 --> 13:31.000
so we're going to go in there,
with our first half double stitch

13:34.000 --> 13:41.000
Make sure it's in place. We need to have,
we need to have second going back down

13:41.000 --> 13:46.000
But remember, we do want to have that,
we don't want to have the whole ten

13:46.000 --> 13:51.000
on connecting our front and back
panel, or even working our sleeves

13:51.000 --> 13:56.000
If you have both, if you're just taking a row, go back,
you're going to see that I'm going to work the entire back

13:56.000 --> 14:04.000
I forgot, so let's go back, and I'll do
just that. I'm just going to turn and work

14:04.000 --> 14:08.000
just like that, and this will
be the second loop, in the hook

14:08.000 --> 14:15.000
so I'm going to go into there, with
that one, and do a half double stitch

14:19.000 --> 14:26.000
For the next row, we'll do it using a single
crochet, with all four in each of those

14:26.000 --> 14:30.000
The first row is quite tedious, I've
worked my way around, using just stitch

14:31.000 --> 14:36.000
just my fingers, but it shows you
something a little hard, at the end

14:36.000 --> 14:41.000
So, I'm going to continue doing
this, until I reach the stitch marker

14:41.000 --> 14:46.000
and then from there on, we can meet
the ten stitches we've done together

14:46.000 --> 14:51.000
and start the second row together, and then
I'll let you guys continue, your number of rows

14:51.000 --> 15:01.000
that's required for this piece. So, I've reached my stitch
marker, and I'm going to remove my hook from the side

15:01.000 --> 15:10.000
and send back my hook. Still working in the back
loop, now we'll go to join our single crochet

15:15.000 --> 15:30.000
And we're going to make ten single
crochets. Ten single crochets

15:45.000 --> 16:00.000
Ten more left. And five. And

16:00.000 --> 16:06.000
turn your work. To get that knit look, we're
going to be working into the back loop only

16:06.000 --> 16:14.000
Into the first chain, going into the
back loop only with single crochet

16:28.000 --> 16:39.000
And, and finally ten. And then
remove that stitch marker

16:39.000 --> 16:49.000
and finish the row down there. So, from
there on, grabbing my first stitch

16:49.000 --> 16:53.000
I'm going to finish off that row,
with half double crochet stitch

16:53.000 --> 16:58.000
When I reach the top, chain one, and
turn. Chain one does not count as a stitch

17:01.000 --> 17:08.000
So, I'm going to do this,
for a total of eleven rows

17:08.000 --> 17:12.000
Note, for each of those ten rows first,
that we will not finish the ten rows

17:12.000 --> 17:18.000
because the ten rows is what we'll
be doing to connect to the collar

17:18.000 --> 17:22.000
So, I'll meet you when we're
about to complete those ten rows

17:23.000 --> 17:29.000
And your tenth row should be working
towards the top, going upward

17:29.000 --> 17:35.000
That's your demonstration. Now, for the other
sizes, please refer to the free ribbing pattern

17:37.000 --> 17:41.000
or the ribbing pattern, in case
you purchased the patterns to this

17:41.000 --> 17:48.000
to this layer. So, I'm going to continue on,
once I am working upwards in my tenth row

17:48.000 --> 17:53.000
So, I've worked up, and I've got two more
stitches to work. And for the tenth stitch

17:53.000 --> 17:58.000
which is what we'll be using to connect
to the collar, will be doing a V-V

17:59.000 --> 18:04.000
Just to create that V-V element.
So, to do a V-V, yarn over

18:04.000 --> 18:08.000
insert your hook into the first
stitch, pull up a loop. To finish off

18:08.000 --> 18:14.000
insert your hook into the last stitch,
pull up a loop, and make a stitch

18:14.000 --> 18:20.000
Pull up a loop, and make a stitch.
For now, instead of chaining one

18:20.000 --> 18:34.000
we'll just connect to this, with
a slip stitch. Just like that

18:34.000 --> 18:39.000
We're connecting that row, that was
suspended. To turn, we'll be slip stitching

18:39.000 --> 18:49.000
into the next single crochet. Right into
there. And then we'll turn our work

18:49.000 --> 18:55.000
Start working downwards. So, from here onwards,
I'll pull the stitch marker that marks the middle

18:55.000 --> 18:59.000
We'll be doing V-Vs. So, if we
do a V-V, it's going downwards

19:03.000 --> 19:10.000
You're going to see these first two Vs,
these two, these are the V-Vs that we did

19:10.000 --> 19:14.000
So, the first stitch to work
into is this one right here

19:14.000 --> 19:25.000
So, we'll be working into V-Vs. Turn
the work over, and we'll continue

19:25.000 --> 19:35.000
doing V-Vs. And we're going to keep working, until

19:36.000 --> 19:41.000
I'm coming back up, so I can show you
once more how we connect to the corner

19:42.000 --> 19:49.000
So, here I am, almost at
the top of my other V-V row

19:49.000 --> 20:02.000
Two stitches left, and I'll do a V-V.
First stitch left. Right, and do that again

20:07.000 --> 20:12.000
There we go. Then we'll slip
stitch to the next V-V row

20:12.000 --> 20:17.000
to connect that row, to begin a
new one, slip stitch. I'll see you

20:17.000 --> 20:29.000
Turn the work, turn it over, and start
with a V-V. And we'll keep repeating that

20:29.000 --> 20:42.000
while we're working downwards, because now,
it's our V-V row. We're going to notice that

20:42.000 --> 20:47.000
we're starting to evolve down the V-V.
So I'm going to keep on doing V-Vs

20:47.000 --> 20:51.000
all the way until the last one right here,
and then after you reach the stitch marker

20:51.000 --> 20:55.000
you can now start going off
with a new V. So I'll meet you

20:55.000 --> 20:59.000
or if you reach down to the stitch
marker, and you reach there

20:59.000 --> 21:03.000
I'll meet you here, so that we can
move out and half of the front facing

21:03.000 --> 21:10.000
to the stitch marker, and then, we've
got a V-V row. So you go on decreasing

21:10.000 --> 21:17.000
and you reach the stitch marker. So,
I have finished my decreasing row

21:17.000 --> 21:21.000
and I have already started on my increasing,
so I'm about to show you what to do

21:21.000 --> 21:29.000
when you're about to get to that
stitch marker. So, in that last stitch

21:31.000 --> 21:35.000
instead of decreasing, instead of decreasing
the twice, in that very last stitch

21:35.000 --> 21:39.000
in that last stitch, we'll be decreasing
two half double crochet stitches

21:41.000 --> 21:49.000
Just like that. Find our next available
single crochet stitch marker. So

21:49.000 --> 21:55.000
to just do the second one, find the next
available single crochet stitch marker

21:55.000 --> 22:02.000
and turn. So, this is the version of
the previous pattern, where I stopped at

22:02.000 --> 22:08.000
And then, we will place an
in-seam, and I'll start a stitch

22:08.000 --> 22:13.000
So, in that first stitch, we're going to be
placing two half double crochet stitches

22:14.000 --> 22:20.000
Just like that. Then one in each
stitch, going all the way down

22:24.000 --> 22:29.000
So, you want to do this, increasing now,
all the way into your stitch marker

22:29.000 --> 22:38.000
which is marked in the other shoulder pattern.
Like so. You want to continue increasing

22:38.000 --> 22:43.000
all the way up to this stitch marker.
After you use this stitch marker

22:43.000 --> 22:49.000
you're going to do your normal rows. We did a total of 10 of these,
as I said. And we're also going to finalize these 10 normal rows

22:49.000 --> 22:53.000
So, we'll go on doing that. Also, you're going
to do stitch markers, and then normal rows

22:53.000 --> 22:59.000
cover stuff in, and then we'll
begin on the back portion altogether

23:00.000 --> 23:07.000
So, I've finished the increasing row,
and then I did the shoulder pattern

23:07.000 --> 23:12.000
And then, as we start the row, as you can see,
I've already completed the back portion of the row

23:12.000 --> 23:17.000
We start by loosing our long chain, and we work
in 10 rows, and then connecting to the corner

23:17.000 --> 23:23.000
The only difference is, this
time, we will not do the decreases

23:23.000 --> 23:27.000
Rather, we will just connect to
the corner, which, by the way

23:27.000 --> 23:31.000
will be connected to the next double row of
single crochet after the last double crochet

23:31.000 --> 23:37.000
And we'll work normal rows. No decreases, no increases,
all the way until the very last single crochet

23:37.000 --> 23:42.000
And then we work our normal number of
rows to complete that shoulder portion

23:42.000 --> 23:46.000
Next, is now, we're going to have
to close this shoulder portion

23:46.000 --> 23:50.000
So, you're going to grab your needle,
and put the two corners together

23:50.000 --> 23:54.000
and you're just going to feel that close
with your needle, and then very simply

23:54.000 --> 23:59.000
pull it out of sight. And then, we
are going to create the armhole

23:59.000 --> 24:04.000
If I say small, I will be closing
from the bottom, from this side

24:04.000 --> 24:10.000
going upwards. However, I will use a total
of 25 stitches to make the armhole for me

24:10.000 --> 24:16.000
for 25 from this side, 25 from this side. So, going
around the arm, you should do around 50 single crochet

24:16.000 --> 24:20.000
50 stitches for the armhole. So, you want
to do the very same thing for both sides

24:20.000 --> 24:24.000
and then I will meet you, so that
we can get that under sleeve

24:24.000 --> 24:29.000
And, yeah, that will be us completing
our sweater. So far, so good

24:29.000 --> 24:33.000
This is my very first v-neck sweater,
but I am loving how it's coming out

24:33.000 --> 24:40.000
I can't wait to try it on. So,
right about now, I have finished it

24:40.000 --> 24:45.000
So, at least, I was hoping it would have more,
but I've been having a little bit of problems

24:45.000 --> 24:52.000
so I haven't been able to record a single process.
However, I will explain to you how I did everything

24:52.000 --> 24:58.000
So, remember the last time, for Jabba, we were
connecting, we left arm stitch markers right here

24:58.000 --> 25:04.000
to indicate the arm opening, and we closed the
whole heart. So, after we've closed this side

25:04.000 --> 25:08.000
we're going to bring it on, and
connect to this other arm section

25:08.000 --> 25:12.000
and we're going to make a chain. That
chain will be the number of stitches

25:12.000 --> 25:16.000
that you have to make for your side, which is
available in the free pattern, or on the pattern

25:16.000 --> 25:20.000
So, after you make that chain, the beginning
will be what is using our slip stitch

25:20.000 --> 25:25.000
as you can see. We'll do the third chain,
followed by a half double slip stitch to the rest

25:25.000 --> 25:29.000
To connect that one, we'll slip stitch, just as we're
doing on the collar. We'll slip stitch into the next

25:29.000 --> 25:34.000
of your double single crochet, so we're doing a row. To
begin the new row, we will slip stitch into the next

25:34.000 --> 25:39.000
of your double single crochet, and go down
it. Half double crochet going down it

25:39.000 --> 25:44.000
and then, finishing off with a fast
slip stitch, to make that nice and snug

25:44.000 --> 25:48.000
right there. So, we're going to
do that going all the way down it

25:49.000 --> 25:53.000
Oh my goodness, there's also four different
parts of this. So, you're going to do that

25:53.000 --> 26:02.000
going around your entire arm opening, until you reach
this end, and then you're going to grab your yarn needle

26:02.000 --> 26:06.000
and you're going to do a full six, closing,
full six. And then, you're going to do

26:06.000 --> 26:10.000
the very same thing for the other
side. And, after you've done that

26:10.000 --> 26:15.000
you're going to use your needle, and you're going to
use just these parts of the needle, and then you slip in

26:15.000 --> 26:22.000
and press up. And, that's it. My sweater is
all finished. I'm all set for Valentine's Day

26:22.000 --> 26:26.000
and whatever cold day I'm going to be.
Don't you just love it? I do, I love it

26:26.000 --> 26:30.000
because it's just perfect. And, it's very
over, super over-the-shoulder, if you want it

26:30.000 --> 26:34.000
and you can wear it cross-legged. It's really
worth it though. I hope you have fun making it

26:34.000 --> 26:38.000
I hope you enjoy what it does. As always,
remember to give it a big thumbs up

26:38.000 --> 26:42.000
share it to the people you believe
may like it, and until next time

26:42.000 --> 26:45.000
I'm going to get to
knitting for now. Bye bye
