WEBVTT

00:00.000 --> 00:14.500
It's our job this week to make something decent out of this
piece of concrete backyard that you can see in this picture here

00:14.500 --> 00:29.000
As you can see it was crack to pieces. We've dug some of those cracks out to make them bigger to allow us to
repair them and we've chosen a company called Resistall and their fantastic repair products to make these repairs

00:29.000 --> 00:40.440
There's another video which you can go and have a look at about a deep
fill repair, epoxy deep fill repair product, which is just down there

00:40.900 --> 00:45.720
That's quite a coarse aggregate, so we leave
that one about 15mm from the top of the concrete

00:46.140 --> 00:51.960
and then we finalise the repair with
the epoxy high performance repair mortar

00:52.600 --> 00:57.640
Okay, so that gives us the top coating, allows
us to feather it out and get it nice and smooth

00:57.640 --> 01:15.327
That what we going to do now It comes in two parts the hardener and the resin and sand mixed together in the bottom The instructions are stuck
to the lid Periodically you see me cleaning my tools down with the safer solvent resistal safer solvent You see that being done and I going

01:15.327 --> 01:24.027
to mix this up now with a paddle mixer. You'll see that being done and then we're going to apply
this to a few of the cracks. This is great stuff. This goes into around about 50 millimetres

01:24.027 --> 01:29.427
deep. Any deeper than that use the deep fill
and then you can finish it off with the repair

01:29.427 --> 01:32.987
mortar which we can feather out to make a nice
smooth surface. You'll see that happening

01:32.987 --> 03:24.662
in just a moment. There we have it

03:24.662 --> 03:28.862
You saw me just feathering out
the edges with a brush there

03:28.862 --> 03:34.462
just to make sure that the edges of the
concrete move up, move closer together

03:34.462 --> 03:39.582
You don't have to be a genius to see that
this concrete base isn't quite level

03:39.782 --> 03:48.062
and there's another video about some flow fast resist-all repair mortar that
we're going to use in a moment to get everything a little bit more level

03:48.462 --> 03:54.302
You'll also see me filling a few more cracks with
the flow-fast. But this repair mortar is superb

03:54.862 --> 04:01.122
It's flexible, it's epoxy, it will move with the concrete,
it doesn't crack, it binds, it doesn't shrink back

04:01.422 --> 04:09.342
It's going to give us a really hard-wearing surface, which isn't going to
crack under any kind of weather conditions so that we can paint over it

04:09.782 --> 04:14.022
Brilliant product from Resistall. Again,
please wear the correct safety equipment
