00:00.000 --> 00:09.000
These days we're all looking for storage space wherever we can find it
and one of the most underused areas is the cupboard under the stairs

00:09.000 --> 00:16.000
You can see here the big cupboard to the left but that
doesn't allow you to get to the smaller pointed bit underneath

00:16.000 --> 00:27.000
So our friend created a bookcase on wheels which can move away from
the understairs cupboard and then put a door in under the stairs

00:27.000 --> 00:33.640
stairs. A unique little idea saves so much
space using the same space for two storage

00:33.640 --> 00:40.440
areas. A really clever idea. You can see it
was created very simply out of an MDF door

00:40.440 --> 00:49.960
cut into the stud work of the underframe to
the stairs and a roller catch simply puts the

00:49.960 --> 00:56.980
door in a position where it can be closed really
firmly. A lovely little idea. I certainly

00:56.980 --> 01:13.840
wish that DIY doctor had thought of it. The bookcase itself, the wheels are added, as you will see
in a moment, and they allow it to be moved ever so easily, very smoothly, into an out of position

01:14.780 --> 01:26.980
The wheels themselves are 50mm caster swivel wheels, available from most hardware DIY stores, and they're
glued and screwed to a 4 inch by 1 inch bearer, which in turn is glued and screwed to the underside

01:26.980 --> 01:33.240
of the bookcase to give its strength. To find out
