WEBVTT

00:05.279 --> 00:07.590
Welcome to Disney this day. I'm gone

00:07.590 --> 00:07.600

00:07.600 --> 00:10.950
bonkers. And on this day in 2011, the

00:10.950 --> 00:10.960

00:10.960 --> 00:14.150
short film The Ballad of Nessie

00:14.150 --> 00:14.160

00:14.160 --> 00:17.349
premiered at Panama. The Brussels

00:17.349 --> 00:17.359

00:17.359 --> 00:21.349
International Animation Film Festival.

00:21.349 --> 00:21.359

00:21.359 --> 00:23.750
Billy Connelly narrated the Scottish

00:23.750 --> 00:23.760

00:23.760 --> 00:26.790
tale of the young Loch Ness monster who

00:26.790 --> 00:26.800

00:26.800 --> 00:29.269
must well look for a new home after hers

00:29.269 --> 00:29.279

00:29.279 --> 00:31.669
is taken over by cruel land developer

00:31.669 --> 00:31.679

00:31.679 --> 00:34.950
named Mcfrugal. The cartoon's classic

00:34.950 --> 00:34.960

00:34.960 --> 00:36.790
style, well, it was modeled after the

00:36.790 --> 00:36.800

00:36.800 --> 00:39.270
animation of the 1950s.

00:39.270 --> 00:39.280

00:39.280 --> 00:41.110
The Pallet of Nessie was the last

00:41.110 --> 00:41.120

00:41.120 --> 00:43.910
project from Disney's original handdrawn

00:43.910 --> 00:43.920

00:43.920 --> 00:46.549
2D animation unit before it ended up

00:46.549 --> 00:46.559

00:46.559 --> 00:49.190
closing in 2013.

00:49.190 --> 00:49.200

00:49.200 --> 00:52.389
But this short film premiered 15 years

00:52.389 --> 00:52.399

00:52.399 --> 00:55.110
ago today. Did you see it? Did you love

00:55.110 --> 00:55.120

00:55.120 --> 00:58.229
it? I thought it was cute. Anyway, have

00:58.229 --> 00:58.239

00:58.239 --> 01:01.800
a magical day.
