00:05.279 --> 00:07.440
Welcome to Disney this day. I'm Egon

00:07.440 --> 00:10.639
Bonkers. And on this day in 1955,

00:10.639 --> 00:13.599
Walt Disney attended the dedication of

00:13.599 --> 00:16.160
the brand new Walt Disney Elementary

00:16.160 --> 00:19.680
School in Tuly Town, Pennsylvania.

00:19.680 --> 00:21.600
Flattered by the honor, Disney

00:21.600 --> 00:23.439
commissioned a series of character

00:23.439 --> 00:26.400
murals and animation cells to line the

00:26.400 --> 00:29.439
hallways. Rooms were given Disney themed

00:29.439 --> 00:32.078
names like Mermaid Lagoon for the girls

00:32.079 --> 00:34.399
restroom and Captain Hook for the

00:34.399 --> 00:36.559
principal's office. This would be the

00:36.559 --> 00:39.200
first of over 60 schools around the

00:39.200 --> 00:42.960
United States to be named after Disney.

00:42.960 --> 00:44.960
Have you been to any of them? What' you

00:44.960 --> 00:47.440
think of them? I haven't yet. I'd like

00:47.440 --> 00:52.840
to, though. Anyway, have a magical day.
