WEBVTT

00:05.279 --> 00:07.040
Welcome to Disney this day. [music] I'm

00:07.040 --> 00:10.320
Egon Bonkers and on the day of 1986,

00:10.320 --> 00:13.200
Down and Out [music] in Beverly Hills

00:13.200 --> 00:16.800
was released by Touchstone Pictures. The

00:16.800 --> 00:18.960
story was adapted from a [music] French

00:18.960 --> 00:22.400
play, Voodoo Saved from Drowning. A

00:22.400 --> 00:24.800
drifter at the end of his rope is saved

00:24.800 --> 00:27.680
by a wealthy but dysfunctional couple.

00:27.680 --> 00:30.560
They invite him to live with them, which

00:30.560 --> 00:32.719
is a decision that broadens the couple's

00:32.719 --> 00:35.760
perspectives and enriches everyone

00:35.760 --> 00:39.040
involved. The film starred Nick Noly, B

00:39.040 --> 00:43.040
Middler, and Richard Drifus. It was also

00:43.040 --> 00:45.840
the first R-rated film released by a

00:45.840 --> 00:48.470
Disney subsidiary, and it came out

00:48.470 --> 00:51.039
[music] 40 years ago today. Did you see

00:51.039 --> 00:54.160
it? Did you love it? I didn't see it.

00:54.160 --> 00:58.480
Anyway, have a magical day.
