WEBVTT

00:05.359 --> 00:07.680
Welcome to Disney This Day. I'm Egon

00:07.680 --> 00:11.840
Bonkers. And on this day in 2011, Romeo

00:11.840 --> 00:15.040
and Juliet was released. The story drew

00:15.040 --> 00:17.520
from well, William Shakespeare's classic

00:17.520 --> 00:20.880
play Romeo and Juliet with two garden

00:20.880 --> 00:23.680
gnomes instead from rival households

00:23.680 --> 00:26.960
forced to hide their forbidden romance.

00:26.960 --> 00:29.279
James Makavoy and Emily Blunt led an

00:29.279 --> 00:32.000
all-star cast that included Michael

00:32.000 --> 00:34.640
Kaine, Maggie Smith, and Patrick

00:34.640 --> 00:37.120
Stewart. The film was a sleeper hit for

00:37.120 --> 00:39.360
Touchstone Pictures as their first

00:39.360 --> 00:43.040
animated film since 1993's The Nightmare

00:43.040 --> 00:45.920
Before Christmas, which honestly is a

00:45.920 --> 00:48.559
little bit more well-known, but Romeo

00:48.559 --> 00:51.600
and Juliet, it was released 15 years ago

00:51.600 --> 00:54.879
today. Did you see it? Did you love it?

00:54.879 --> 00:57.920
I have to admit I still haven't seen it.

00:57.920 --> 01:02.440
Anyway, have a magical day.
