WEBVTT

00:05.279 --> 00:07.349
Welcome to Disney this day. I'm Egon

00:07.349 --> 00:07.359

00:07.359 --> 00:10.549
Bonkers. And on a day in 1996,

00:10.549 --> 00:10.559

00:10.559 --> 00:13.910
James and the Giant Peach was released

00:13.910 --> 00:13.920

00:13.920 --> 00:17.510
in theaters. James is an orphan plagued

00:17.510 --> 00:17.520

00:17.520 --> 00:20.790
by cruel ants until he escapes inside a

00:20.790 --> 00:20.800

00:20.800 --> 00:23.509
magically enlarged Peach across the

00:23.509 --> 00:23.519

00:23.519 --> 00:26.630
ocean to New York City with a new found

00:26.630 --> 00:26.640

00:26.640 --> 00:29.990
family of charmed insects. The original

00:29.990 --> 00:30.000

00:30.000 --> 00:33.270
1961 story from Rob Doll was brought to

00:33.270 --> 00:33.280

00:33.280 --> 00:35.990
the big screen by Henry Celich and Tim

00:35.990 --> 00:36.000

00:36.000 --> 00:38.229
Burton, the team behind The Nightmare

00:38.229 --> 00:38.239

00:38.239 --> 00:41.270
Before Christmas. The film also utilized

00:41.270 --> 00:41.280

00:41.280 --> 00:44.310
stop motion animation sequences in

00:44.310 --> 00:44.320

00:44.320 --> 00:47.110
addition to live action. And it also had

00:47.110 --> 00:47.120

00:47.120 --> 00:49.990
a song that was called My Name is James,

00:49.990 --> 00:50.000

00:50.000 --> 00:52.310
or at least it sang that way. I don't

00:52.310 --> 00:52.320

00:52.320 --> 00:54.869
know. Have you seen it? Did you love it?

00:54.869 --> 00:54.879

00:54.879 --> 00:57.350
I thought it was kind of cute. Anyway,

00:57.350 --> 00:57.360

00:57.360 --> 01:01.079
have a magical day.
