WEBVTT

00:05.200 --> 00:07.359
Welcome to Disney This Day. I'm Egon

00:07.359 --> 00:10.320
Bonkers. And on this day in 1985, The

00:10.320 --> 00:13.040
Black Cauldron was released in theaters.

00:13.040 --> 00:15.839
It was Disney's 25th animated feature

00:15.839 --> 00:19.279
and the first to earn a PG rating. The

00:19.279 --> 00:21.760
story was adapted from well Welsh

00:21.760 --> 00:24.400
mythology as interpreted in the first

00:24.400 --> 00:26.480
two the chronicles of Puritan novels

00:26.480 --> 00:29.519
from Lloyd Alexander. A group of lovable

00:29.519 --> 00:32.320
misfits set out to stop the evil horned

00:32.320 --> 00:34.960
king from finding the all powerful

00:34.960 --> 00:38.320
cauldron and ruling the world. The film

00:38.320 --> 00:40.320
well it has a cold following today

00:40.320 --> 00:43.120
although it was not a box office success

00:43.120 --> 00:46.559
but it was released 40 years ago today.

00:46.559 --> 00:49.360
Did you see it? Did you love it? I kind

00:49.360 --> 00:54.920
of like it. Anyway, have a magical day.
