[Music]

00:05.359 --> 00:07.440
Welcome to Disney this day. I'm Egon

00:07.440 --> 00:10.559
Bonkers and on this day in 1936,

00:10.559 --> 00:13.200
Walt Disney was awarded the National

00:13.200 --> 00:15.200
Order of the Legion of Honor,

00:15.200 --> 00:18.400
Chavevelier by France. This National

00:18.400 --> 00:21.680
Order of Merit is the highest and most

00:21.680 --> 00:25.359
prestigious decoration in France. The

00:25.359 --> 00:26.960
recognition was established by the

00:26.960 --> 00:30.800
Napoleon Bonapart in 1802.

00:30.800 --> 00:32.398
Disney received the Legion of Honor

00:32.399 --> 00:34.640
distinction for his pioneering work in

00:34.640 --> 00:37.680
animation and efforts to encourage

00:37.680 --> 00:40.879
universal goodwill. The award is on

00:40.879 --> 00:43.920
display in the lobby of the Walt Disney

00:43.920 --> 00:47.440
Family Museum. And he got it 90 years

00:47.440 --> 00:50.559
ago today. Have you seen it? Have you

00:50.559 --> 00:52.879
been to the family museum? I'd like to

00:52.879 --> 00:56.079
go. I think it'd be pretty fun. Anyway,

00:56.079 --> 00:59.878
have a magical day.
